How is yours?
Is it decrepit or super-new & sparkling?
Do the trains move and glide easily on shiny new rails?
Or do they stay still and decay into rust & dust?
Can you see the trains that are in the background?
Or do the nearer ones obscure your line of sight?
If you needed to spot a particular train, just how difficult
would it be in your particular train yard of consciousness?
My personal train yard of consciousness was VERY messy
and VERY disordered for many years. It produced brain-locking
anxiety & OCD that severely interfered with my lived life.
Not to mention my sense of joy & happiness.
Then I had the wonderful idea to search out great [very simple] ways
to clean it up. I only found a few good ways that didn't require a
full-time devotion…so I began developing my own ways using tools,
techniques & EnergyWork that made the process easy…and actually fun.
Here's a great & simple tool you can use to gain focus, clarity & insight
about any challenge you have. Put on your conductor's hat and follow me.
Pick an issue that you're wrestling with in your life.
Just one for now.
Pretend [really!] that you're in the Train Yard Of Your Consciousness and
that particular issue is represented by a specific "special" train car.
Look inside the yard and locate that car.
Deliberately have that specific train car be located far away in the distance
behind other train cars. Your "special" car is a few tracks away--behind other
trains that obscure it from your view. Got it?
Great.
Now...here's the easy fun.
Sit still in your mind and allow the train in front of you to slowly begin moving.
You can see your "special" car between the gaps as the train in front of you
moves away one car at a time.
One train has moved away. Perhaps there's another train between you and
your "special" car. Do it again. Allow yourself to see/locate where your car is
in the gaps as the train in front of you slowly moves away.
Keep it easy & breezy.
Now the Evelyn Woods short form:
Put your attention on what you want [your "special" train car] way out
in front of you in the distance.
Allow your consciousness/awareness to move through the gaps of
the obscuring train[s] in front of you [i.e. your train of thoughts] and gently
rest your attention on what you want--your "special" train car.
Keep it easy, breezy, simple & non-grasping. No clutching.
Just pay attention with your awareness.
Do it a few times...or perhaps just once.
You decide.
When you're done/bored/had enough come back to the present moment and
take a brief inventory of what has changed for you mentally, emotionally,
physically and in all other ways you'd like to notice. There will inevitably
be some change each time you do this.
Pretty neat, huh?
This approach may or may not solve all your challenges the first time out...but it
will clear the detritus that obscures your natural innate knowing,
human functioning & vast awareness. That alone will make the journey
through challenges MUCH less frustrating with reduced suffering.
